Received another nuisance phone call yesterday from Nexbridge Communications Ltd still about energy saving. They are using local dialling codes but they are based in Manchester. They are also showing on google maps as being locally based but it comes up on the may as Media Shower Company who are actually based in Northampton, USA NOT UK

Supposed job offer, but refused to provide details citing "confidentiality". Knew some public information about me (probably from LinkedIn) and immediately wanted confirmation of my work history and a copy of my CV. Very suspicious.

Just received a call from this number, a female with an American accent, who wanted to ask a few questions (a survey, not selling anything). Asked where she got my number (we are with TPS) and she said BT. I explained there s no way BT would give out (or sell) a number registered with TPS. I explained it s illegal to coldcall TPS-registered numbers. I asked if she was calling from the US, she said no, it s a UK company but the call is being made from an offshore address. I said goodbye.

Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

I received a text message from them telling me I owed them over £90 and to contact them regarding the issue. After speaking to O2 previously, they informed me that the number did not belong to O2; and because of this, I decided to do a little digging. Calling from Bewiser re my car insurance. Asked me to confirm my details and gave me an old reg plate from 2 years ago. I hung up.

01772 333348 has rung me loads of times, even at 6.20 am There is only ever a bleeping sound, nobody ever speaks. When you put the phone down the line is blocked for a few minutes afterwards. Whoever they are, and whatever they want, this is unacceptable and constitutes harassment.

This number is used by Boku, a phone collection service (based in San Fransico, USA - with supposedly Europe wide offices) that collects "subscriptions" from, normally inadvertantly, "subscribing" to on-line adverts, messages and web sites. Boku send you a confirmation text, using this number, to tell you that you have just subscribed again. Received 8 calls from this number today - very aggressive female callers - claimed they I had taken out PPI. When I challenged back and asked for details they wanted me to provide them with personal details.

Keep getting calls and spoof texts, they claim to be Scottish Power but they are not. They tell me my number is linked o a SP account but I rang SP from their website number and they have advised me there is no account with my number. I cannot make them stop so having to change my number. It been happening for months but I ignored them until it ramped up to daily.
