We received a call from 0141 555 4854 with a recorded message telling us of unauthorised transactions on our card? One was £300 for Amazon and then £1, something (I lost the will at this time). I could press 1 to cancel or 2 to speak to the team. I have hung up ad blocked the number.but I know they can change the number to show anything they like. Why or why are the authorities not doing more to catch these scumbags.

Sounded like some sort of financial scam, didn't identify where they were calling from.

I received a call from this number today saying someone had tried to pay for something on Amazon and with draw £1000 from my bank. It just went off before the call finished so I rang the number back on my mobile. I guy answered but said he had not used his phone that morning.

I did not answer as I did not recognise this number. I have blocked it.

Recorded message speaks of suspicious activity on my card "this morning". Identical (down to the amounts) to yesterday's call re "this morning" from different number. No name of bank given, my name not used. Scam.

SCAM Called to say my home appliance cover will be discounted. Gave the name of Chris Jones and a contact number of 08007789104. Gave him false sort code and account number to see where this was going. He asked me to "confirm" my date of birth also gave him a false date, he missed the fact it was April Fool's day. SCAM Phone sim swop scam designed to by pass the 2 step verification system and gain access to passwords, banking etc. Looks like a Birmingham company actually based in Karachi. Bit of digging on Linkedin etc confirm this and that is it a cover for many businesses including call centres. Tells you all you need to know.

Called from Citizens advice group. I questioned the male caller with a south Asian accent in some detail. He was very helpful. They were calling about debts and he asked what debts we had. I asked him where they got our number and he replied FCA ????????????. I then asked him for the person or department name as I have previously worked with FCA in the past, he didn’t give it to me. He was very polite and said he couldn’t continue. He also said they weren’t authorised in the UK!

Called me claiming to be Scottish Power, wanted me to tell them my address, saying I had a debt on my account. I asked them to tell me the address to which they claimed the debt was overdue on, but they couldn't. When I told them that I have never had an account with Scottish Power, they became very aggressive and eventually told me to f..k off and hung up on me.

This is a scam pretending to be an Amazon call centre as they had our email and then changed our Amazon account password, that generated an email to us with an OTD code. The scammer then wanted us to give him that code so they could take over the account. DO NOT GIVE THEM THAT CODE AND HANG UP THE CALL AND BLOCK THE NUMBER

I received a t/c from (004)91113279026 today 27/4/22, at 13.56hrs to my L/L. I answered without saying anything, and the caller who said nothing, hung up. I live in the Hove area of Sussex. Given that the Phone Number Localisation 091113279026 is New Delhi, India, it is probably a scammer.
