SCAM They called, claiming they were from some warehouse (I did not understand because the woman's foreign accent was very hard to understand). They asked me which iPhone I have to offer me some 'discount' for an upgraded plan or something. Guess what, I do not have an iPhone. I might have misunderstood something, so it is worth hearing about other people's experiences too, but for now, I consider this a scam.

Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

This number is used by Boku, a phone collection service (based in San Fransico, USA - with supposedly Europe wide offices) that collects "subscriptions" from, normally inadvertantly, "subscribing" to on-line adverts, messages and web sites. Boku send you a confirmation text, using this number, to tell you that you have just subscribed again. The official Pension Adisory Service says No Cold Calls . I ve had 5 in the past 2 months. Each time I tell them that I am a pensions advisor (even though I am not, but do work in finance) They don t give up. I have finally recorded a conversation with them that if they call me again I will consult the CAB about harassment charges .
