Man, claiming to be Jonathan Carter from Microsoft, rang from 01142998909. During the call the line dropped and when he rang back it was from this number. He said hackers had taken over my computer in the pass few days. He tried to persuade me to download Anydesk which gives access to my computer on the pretext that it would remove the hackers. When I refused he said he would have to block my computer from the broadband and I would have to come to Microsoft in Reading to have it unblocked
This is a some sort of prank number. They do not speak then drop the call. Please arrest them and bring them to the nearest police station for questioning.

I'm more and more convinced it is a scam. I was called this morning, by an automated voice, that there is a proceeding against me because I didn't pay my taxes, and if I want to avoid further consequences (including jail!), I should press 1. Pulled over, pressed 1, a female voice greeted me and asked for personal data. I didn't give any, and asked if there is a number I can call them back on. She said she would call me back later instead. Once home, checekd with HMRC, no issues with my status or taxes.

Indian 'lady' called saying they were Right Energy part of uk-talk offering wholesale energy rates. Asked where she was located, she said Birmingham. After stringing her along for 10 minutes I asked what was happening with the Bull Ring, she clearly did not know what I was talking about especially when I asked if that's where she gets the bullsh*t from. Then said she was in Kolkata (aka Calcutta) not Birmingham. Said that I was in London helping police with scam callers - phone went dead!

I got a phone call from this number claiming to be from Microsoft. (Indian call handler) They said my computer was compromised but I don’t own a computer so knew it was a scam. I kept talking to them to waste their time and then eventually told them I’d be reporting them to police. She tried to convince me still they were legitimate. Telemarketing called twice in 10 mins, first was just a dead line, 2nd was a person trying to book review of our website, said it would take about 20 mins. kindly refused their offer. Call area code is Kelso but the caller said they were based in Luton
Funny how over the last week, I have been getting calls from Manchester on my mobile. They alway hangup before it goes to my answer service. This has to be a sales call or fake service that has picked up on my number, otherwise they would leave a message for me to get back to them.

Same as below received emailed ebay order confirmation which states 'call us on + 20 7665 0123 to report this to our fraud protection team'. Just recently used ebay for first time in years so very suspect and definately not a genuine order. Report direct to ebay direct, not on number provided in invoice, from the online site and Actionfraud website.
