Scammers. They leave an automated message claiming to be from HMRC and claiming there is a tax fraud case under your name. They ask you to press 1 to continue. Don't be tempted! Just hang up.
My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so.
